Social acceptance
In reading the article about topless dancers and how one's occupation is one of the most important elements in defining their social identiy, I sat and thought about how I would introduce myself to someone if I had a job like that. To be completely honest I don't think I would reveal that in the beginning of the conversation. Sure it brings in good money, but it brings about a whole fishbowl of ideas for someone to view you as. They might think slut, whore, tramp, that they must have no respect for themselves. But, if it pays well and you have the body for the job, I think you go girl and be careful not to fall in to drug abuse and alcoholism because I hear that is easy to do. I have known plenty of girls that have worked such a job during their college years in order to pay school off. That's cool whatever you have to do. But, seriously if you cannot be honest about the work that you do, then either you are not happy with it or you are embarrassed about it and therefore should not do it because it may create other problems for you if you are caught in your profession.
